We did the trail clockwise which is a bit steeper on the way up and a more gradual road coming down. There’s a pavilion at the trailhead with on street parking.

After leveling off a bit you have really great bench-cut singletrack through the mountainside with incredible views of the city.

  7. Mar 20, 2022 · The Bump & Grind trail in Palm Desert is my favorite ass-kicking desert hike. If you’re looking for a great workout in a short amount of time: this is your hike. However, if you don’t love steep inclines and/or have weak knees or ankles: this will undoubtedly NOT be your favorite hike!
