Banks Covered Bridge was built in 1889, built entirely out of wood and using a Burr Arch Truss, like most of the covered bridges in Pennsylvania. The foundation is made of stone, but it is supported by steel girders.
The Banks Covered Bridge, built in 1889, spans the Neshannock Creek southwest of Volant in an area known as Neshannock Falls. The 122-foot-long span was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is one of the last two covered bridges in Lawrence County.
