Enjoyably trashy teen flick that plays like a dumbed-down version of Fight Club, enlivened by an engaging lead performance by star-in-the-making Sean Faris.
The movie had a great theme were one fights in order to have peace. The antagonist fought for the wrong reasons glory, and attention. The mix of mixed martial art, a love interest, and the kid who got over his anger is a great story. Never Back down also show why the characters act the way they do.
Movie Review. Jake Tyler isn’t a bad kid. But the rural Iowa high school football phenom has a problem: He can’t stop fighting. Rage born of his father’s drunk-driving death erupts from him like volcanic magma. Nothing—not his mother’s pleading, repeated trips to the ER, school expulsions or “visits” to the police station—stems his anger.
