      • The 5th Wave is a mopey science-fiction thriller that borrows from other YA properties and doesn't bring anything new to the table. Granted, some of the alien destruction looks cool, and Moretz and Robinson do a fine job in their respective roles. But the end result is nothing more than cheap romance and uneven storytelling.
