The Pursuit of Happiness. Summaries. A young college student is sent to prison as much for killing a pedestrian with his car as for not paying his parking tickets. When the opportunity presents itself he escapes and is subsequently on the run with his girlfriend. But how long can this situation last? — Kevin Steinhauer <K.Steinhauer@BoM.GOV.AU>
Michael Sarrazin is a college student who accidentally hits and kills an elderly lady with his car during a rain storm and is charged with manslaughter. This film feels like a hopelessly muddled attempt to appeal to the young folks of 1971. Sarrazin's character is a blank that exhibits no interests, desires or really much emotion about anything.
