Synopsis. In Rome, Federico Fendi, a lawyer, falls in love with and marries Carla, his colleague Renzo's fiancée, despite Renzo's expressed fear that Carla is secretly a high-priced call girl. Federico's suspicion grows; he begins to follow Carla and becomes convinced of the truth of the accusation in the wake of several coincidences.
