Fresno’s Christmas Tree Lane is a tradition lasting over 100 years! Each December, North Van Ness Boulevard in Fig Garden becomes a one-way street lined with hundreds of trees and homes all decked-out for the holidays.
Christmas Tree Lane began in 1920 with a single tree that was decorated to honor a child who had passed away. The tradition has grown every year for 100 years and is a staple of Fresno’s holiday traditions.
Christmas Tree Lane is a 0.7-mile (1.1 km) boulevard of deodar cedar trees in Altadena, California. The trees on the Lane, Santa Rosa Avenue, have been lighted annually as a Christmas Holiday display since 1920.
