A series of gruesome and inexplicable murders plagues a small town in Spain. Against this backdrop of murder and paranoia, traveling vendor Manuel Romasanta (Julian Sands) seeks the affections of Barbara (Elsa Pataky), a woman who has lost several family members to the unknown serial killer.
