The rabbi who dropped dead was Rav Krushka ( Anton Lesser ), an important figure in the London Orthodox Jewish community.
Synopsis. In a Jewish Orthodox Synagogue in Hendon, the frail Rav Krushka (Anton Lesser) collapses whilst giving a sermon. As funeral rites commence in London, the Rabbi's exiled daughter Ronit Khruska (Rachel Weisz) is living her life as a photographer in Manhattan.
When Ronit (Rachel Weisz) returns to London in Disobedience, she re-discovers the closed-off Jewish Orthodox world in which she grew up. We take a look at the rich history and traditions of that world.
