Transformers is a 2007 American science fiction action film based on Hasbro's toy line of the same name. It is the first installment in the Transformers film series. The film is directed by Michael Bay from a screenplay by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
It is the 13th-highest-grossing film series, with a total of $5.28 billion; the series films have generally been successful at the box office, with Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction grossing over $1 billion each. A crossover film with G.I. Joe is in development.
