The film features a different cast from the fictitious trailer, led by Patrick Dempsey. It was released by TriStar Pictures in November 2023. Both Rodriguez and Tarantino have said that they are interested in making a sequel to Grindhouse.

Edgar Wright. Writers' Assistant. Grindhouse combines Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, a horror comedy about a group of survivors who battle zombie-like creatures, and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, an action thriller about a murderous stuntman who kills young women with modified vehicles.
Tarantino directs "Death Proof," a slasher film, and Rodriguez directs "Planet Terror," a zombie movie. Fictitious ads and movie trailers run during each feature's intermission.
