The General is a comedy action film inspired by the Great Locomotive Chase, a true story of the American Civil War. It stars Buster Keaton as a train engineer who chases a Union spy who stole his locomotive and his girlfriend.
With Buster Keaton, Marion Mack, Glen Cavender, Jim Farley. After being rejected by the Confederate military, not realizing it was due to his crucial civilian role, an engineer must single-handedly recapture his beloved locomotive after it is seized by Union spies and return it through enemy lines.
