The Greene Murder Case is a 1929 talking film produced and released by Paramount Pictures and based on the novel The Greene Murder Case, by S.S. Van Dine (Willard Huntington Wright). The novel had been published a year before this film was made.
District Attorney John F. X. Markham calls in ace detective Philo Vance when he and his men are unable to solve the death of eccentric Chester Greene, allegedly shot to death by a member of his own family. Vance's investigation reveals an atmosphere of hatred in the Greene household.
