Based on the short story "Here's How" by Richard Washburn Child in Fresh Waters and Other Stories (New York, 1924).
"The Mad Whirl" hardly reached the dizzying heights of jazz mad revelry as depicted in some of the early titles. In the first half, the Herringtons have made their house open to the local flapper set, all in the name of being "companions" to their son Jack (Jack Mulhall) whose fast living is giving him a dependence on alcohol.
