La Vie Est un Roman plot. The film consists of three intertwined stories about a castle in the Ardennes. On the eve of World War I, Count Forbek decides to build the castle in the Ardennes. After the war, he uses the castle to start a "utopian society", for which he brainwashes his friends, including his former fiancée Livia and her husband.
