Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is a 2009 American martial arts action film based upon the Street Fighter video game series produced by Capcom. Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak from a screenplay written by Justin Marks, the film serves as a non-canonical spin-off and theatrical tie-in to Street Fighter IV (2008).
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is the second and final[citation needed] live-action film based on the Street Fighter series. It follows the quest of Chun-Li, portrayed by Smallville star Kristin Kreuk.
When a teenager, Chun-Li witnesses the kidnapping of her father by wealthy crime lord M. Bison. When she grows up, she goes on a quest for vengeance and becomes the famous crime-fighter of the Street Fighter universe.
Based on the wildly popular Street Fighter video game series, this powerful martial arts adventure explores the origins of the Street Fighter universe through Chun-Li (Kristin Kreuk), who avenges her father’s death at the hands of Bison (Neal McDonough) and his evil Shadaloo Empire.
When she grows up, she goes into a quest for justice and bring down the criminal organization Shadaloo which is led by Bison. Chun-Li lives a calm life with her father, when one day, the local mobster Bison kidnaps her father.
