Synopsis. Veteran CIA officer Peter Devereaux (Pierce Brosnan) retires from the agency in 2008 after his partner and protege David Mason (Luke Bracey), who disobeyed Devereaux's orders not to fire on an assassin, accidentally killed a child during a mission to protect a US Ambassador in Montenegro.
