"A Woman's Face" is a film that shows George Cukor, one of the best film directors of all times, at the top of his profession. In fact, this film precedes probably his "Gaslight", which might be one of his best movies he directed.

A Woman's Face is held together by two stellar performances, one as careful and subtle as the other is blustery and spectacular. Joan Crawford, in a thwarted bid for both renewed box office relevance and an Oscar statuette, is incredible as Anna, the woman in question.
