The Fox and the Hound is an American animated buddy drama film loosely based on the Daniel P. Mannix novel of the same name produced by Walt Disney Productions and released in the United States on July 10, 1981 and it is the 24th film in the Disney Animated Canon.
After his mother is killed, Tod the fox (Mickey Rooney) is taken in by the kindly Widow Tweed (Jeanette Nolan). He soon befriends the neighbor's new hound dog, Copper (Kurt Russell).
