Sunshine Follows Rain. Summaries. 19th-century northern Sweden is the setting for a story of forbidden love between farmer's daughter Marit and Jon, the scorned result of an extramarital affair between a gypsy fiddler and a girl Marit's father Germund once loved.
Swedish nineteenth century bucolic romance, in its story like many others, a girl in love with the outcast fiddler against her father's wishes, it all follows a predictable route. Still it's very nicely done, has a mythic feel and looks a treat as well as giving Mai Zetterling an early leading role.
