Pantaleón Enrique Joaquín Granados Campiña (27 July 1867 – 24 March 1916), commonly known as Enrique Granados in Spanish or Enric Granados in Catalan, was a Spanish composer of classical music, and concert pianist from Catalonia, Spain. His most well-known works include Goyescas, the Spanish Dances [ es], and María del Carmen.

Goyescas (piano suite) (Granados, Enrique) El pelele is sometimes performed as part of the Goyescas suite. In 1915 Granados wrote a one-act opera, also called Goyescas, using melodies from the piano suite.

Dec 31, 2016 · Enrique Granados (1867–1916) died in on his way back from the United States following the performance of Goyescas at the Metropolitan Opera on 28 January 1916. The passenger ferry in which he was travelling to England, the Sussex, was torpedoed and damaged by a German U-boat.

Jun 27, 2018 · It is followed by the first piece of Book II, El amor y la muerte (Love and Death), the most brilliant and dramatic of the set, in which Granados recalls themes previously heard in Book I. El pelele (The Strawman), although not published as part of the Goyescas, is usually appended to it. In performance it is played as the seventh and last piece.
