- Friday The 13th. New fans may not know that the iconic hockey mask actually doesn’t even appear until the third movie. That’s right! The first movie in the franchise is a classic slasher set at Crystal Lake Camp, where teenagers get murdered left and right by none other than Jason’s mother.
- Friday The 13th Part 2. A direct sequel to the first film, Part 2 starts by killing off the protagonist of the last movie and then moves on to a new set of unsuspecting teenagers.
- Friday The 13th Part III. The third movie of the franchise is not only remembered for introducing the trademark hockey mask, which became a staple of the genre, but for being released in 3D, for which it suffered in quality.
- Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter. Producer Frank Mancuso Jr. wanted to end the saga and intended for this film to be the last appearance of Jason Vorhees on the big screen.

- Friday the 13th Part 2. After the surprise massive success of the first Friday the 13th, producers churned out a sequel less than a year later, returning to Camp Crystal Lake for another set of disposable counselors to get killed.
- Friday the 13th Part III. The third Friday the 13th establishes all of the series' key elements, including Jason's hockey mask and machete. It's also presented in clumsy 1980s 3D, which is unavailable to stream, so that modern viewers just witness a lot of objects being thrust awkwardly at the camera.
- Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Of course this isn't actually the final chapter, although at one point it was meant to conclude the franchise. Instead, it introduces the character of Tommy Jarvis (here played by Corey Feldman), who would become the closest Jason has to a nemesis.
