Three immature "super"-investigators try to solve the disappearance of a billionaire and wind up in the mansion lair of Randolph Cheyne (Ida Lupino), a James Bond villainess. The jokes are unfunny, the plot is absurd, and the whole thing is nothing but a waste of time. I had to turn it off, which I very rarely do.

6/10. Entertaining. blanche-2 24 May 2010. "I Love a Mystery," based on the radio program of the same name, is a 1945 film starring Jim Bannon, Barton Yarborough, George Macready, and Nina Foch. Packard and Doc Long (Bannon and Yarborough) meet Macready in a nightclub with a woman - apparently he knows when he's going to die.
10/10. I Love this movie! myplanetrocks 9 April 2007. This is one of the most memorable movies from the 70's. I saw this when I was about 7 years old at 2 am in the morning and I remembered it for years after! David Hartman and Don Knotts maintain levity as they investigate a mystery in a creepy old mansion.

Morse's popular radio serial of the same name, I Love a Mystery was the first of three Columbia "B" pictures inspired by the radio series and the only one actually based on a script written by Morse for the radio series.

I LOVE A MYSTERY is a lighthearted crime drama based on the popular NBC radio series about three war veterans who form a private investigation firm in San Francisco. Though the radio show had gone off the air in 1944, Columbia released the first film adaptation in January 1945, just one month after NBC broadcast the final episode.
