The Gambler is a 2014 American crime drama film directed by Rupert Wyatt. The screenplay by William Monahan is based on the 1974 film The Gambler, written by James Toback, which, in turn, is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel of the same name.
Kenny Rogers stars as Brady Hawkes, the titular gambler, who embarks on a journey to meet Jeremiah ( Ronnie Scribner ), the young son he never knew after Jeremiah sends him a letter. Along the way, Brady meets Billy Montana ( Bruce Boxleitner) and the two become friends.
