  3. Translated from Italy as "Terror-Creatures from the Grave", this disappointing slice of horror is most notable for the inclusion of the always delectable Barbara Steele (as Cleo Hauff) in its cast. She takes a bath, she screams, and she always livens up a mediocre movie.

  4. United States [1] Box office. ₤ 89 million. Terror-Creatures from the Grave ( Italian: 5 tombe per un medium) is a 1965 horror film directed by Domenico Massimo Pupillo. The film was an international co-production between Italy and the United States through M.B.S. Cinematografica, G.I.A. Cinematografica and International Entertainment Corp. [1]

  5. The dubbing makes it a little cheesy, top-billed Barbara Steele is sadly underused (though she does get a couple of unusually erotic scenes), and Luciano Pigozzi/Alan Collins plays a creepy manservant for what seems like the 150th time, but TERROR-CREATURES FROM THE GRAVE really sneaks up on you and stays with you.

  6. Terror-Creatures from the Grave is the most Ed Wood-ian non-Ed Wood, Jr. horror title I can think of. It’s original Italian 5 tombe per un medium (or Five Graves for a Medium), while more accurate, I guess wasn’t an American marketing person’s idea of a seat-filler.

  8. A spooky rural Italian abode, an occultist's dying curse and Barbara Steele above the title... what more could you want from a vintage gothic horror flick? Well, Terror-Creatures from the Grave also packs in a surprising amount of gore for a mid-'60s black and white movie, beginning with a nervous guy who gets his face kicked in by a horse before the opening credits.
