When a drifter is taken in by a peculiar mortician, the two hatch an underground enterprise. Greed causes their efforts to unravel, however, and the drifter makes a run for it and heads across the Southwest, where he encounters wild and crazy characters and learns valuable lessons about friendship and loyalty.
