Rachel Dwyer's (Madchen Amick) law school roommate is murdered, and the killer is never captured. Now a Boston district attorney, Rachel sees a chance for closure when other law students start getting killed in the same fashion. Photographer Malcolm Lennox (Chris Mulkey) is the main suspect, but is found not guilty at his first trial.
