On the Riviera is a 1951 Technicolor musical comedy film made by 20th Century Fox. Directed by Walter Lang and produced by Sol C. Siegel from a screenplay by Valentine Davies and Phoebe and Henry Ephron, it is the studio's fourth [3] film based on the 1934 play The Red Cat by Rudolph Lothar and Hans Adler.
American entertainer Jack Martin and his French girl friend Colette are performing in the Cote d'Azure nightclub on the Riviera when the audience rushes out to watch a television broadcast of the landing of famed aviator Capitaine Henri Duran.
Screenplay. In this fast-paced remake of the Maurice Chevalier vehicle Folies Bergère, talented Danny Kaye plays both a performer and a heroic French military pilot.
