Skid Row were an Irish blues rock band of the late 1960s and early 1970s, based in Dublin and fronted by bass guitarist Brendan "Brush" Shiels. It was the first band in which Phil Lynott and Gary Moore played professionally before finding greater fame with Thin Lizzy .
The original name of the new group was "Your Father's Moustache" but in October, 1967, Brush announced he was renaming the group, Skid Row. In the following years, Skid Row would become one of the best known of the new Irish Rock Groups, along with bands like Rory Gallagher's Taste and Eric Bell's (and then Phil Lynott's) Thin Lizzy.

Skid Row (2) Blues rock band formed in 1967 in Dublin, Ireland. Originally active 1967 - 1972, the group is best known for the power trio lineup of Brush Shiels, Noel Bridgeman and Gary Moore, although Bernard Cheevers, Phil Lynott, Robbie Brennan, Eric Bell (2), and Paul Chapman were all also briefly members.

Skid Row was a Dublin based blues-rock band of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band was comprised of Brendan 'Brush' Shiels (bass), Noel 'Nollaig' Bridgeman (drums), Bernard 'Bernie' Cheevers (guitar) and Phil Lynott on vocals. Cheevers was replaced by 16-year-old Gary Moore in early 1968.
