David A. Christian (born October 26, 1948) [1] is an American who served in the United States Army as a captain during the Vietnam War. While serving as a lieutenant in South Vietnam, he was wounded in action seven times and awarded several medals including the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism.
David A. Christian became the youngest National Commander of the Nation’s oldest veterans organization The Legion of Valor. He was a co-founder of the Vietnam Veterans of America with US Senator John Kerry and Bobby Muller. He helped with the National Korean and Vietnam Memorials in Washington, DC.
He went on to be an Airborne, Ranger, Green Beret during the Vietnam War and personally knew over 70 men whose names are engraved in the black granite of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial – two of these men died in Mr. Christian’s arms. David is known throughout the country as the “Youngest – Most Decorated Officer of the Vietnam War”.
