Scott is a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School where he was a PIAA & National Heavyweight wrestling champion, and Millersville University, where he graduated with a degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice and became a three-time 1st Team PSAC Defensive Tackle and two-time All-American.
Martin was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and Millersville University with a degree in sociology/criminal justice. He played professional American football in the Arena Football League .

Apr 30, 2024 · Senate Bill 1151, sponsored by Martin, would create the Grow PA Merit Scholarship Program, which would help attract high-performing out-of-state students to Pennsylvania educational programs in Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) schools.
