Zhu Rongji (Chinese: 朱镕基; IPA: [ʈʂú ɻʊ̌ŋ.tɕí]; born 23 October 1928) is a retired Chinese politician who served as the premier of China from 1998 to 2003 and member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from 1992 to 2002 along with CCP general secretary Jiang Zemin.

朱镕基 （1928年10月23日 — ）， 字 長庚 [1] ， 湖南 长沙 人，是 中国共产党 和 中华人民共和国 电机工程师及政治人物，原 正国级 领导人 ，毕业于 清华大学 电机系电机制造专业。 曾任第十四、十五届 中共中央政治局常委 （1992—2002）、 国务院副总理 （1991—1998）、 国务院总理 （1998—2003）等职务，是 江泽民 执政时期的第二位中央政府首脑。 朱镕基出生于湖南长沙，是 明朝 開國 皇帝 明太祖 朱元璋 第十八子岷莊王 朱楩 的後裔，自幼父母双亡 [2] ，1947年于湖南省立第一中学（今 长沙市第一中学 ）毕业后考入 清华大学电机系 电机制造专业。 在清华期间加入新民主主义青年联盟，1948年12月参加工作，1949年10月加入 中国共产党 。
