May 18, 2016 · It was with great sadness to learn this morning that Adrian Guerra, the former drummer and vocalist of Seattle's Funeral Doom band, Bell Witch, had passed away.
The record is both the band's most daring composition and a loving tribute to the group's former drummer and growling vocalist, Adrien Guerra, who passed away while it was being composed.
In 2016, drummer and co-founding member Adrian Guerra died, shortly after being replaced by Jesse Shreibman on drums. Less than a year later, Bell Witch released their third album, Mirror Reaper (2017), to critical acclaim.
Adrian played an integral role as one-half of Bell Witch with his ritual procession-like drumming and his apocalyptic-sounding death growls, and being responsible in helping to create a body of American funderal/death doom metal mastery spread out amongst a crushing demo and two masterful full-length albums.
