Aug 16, 2024 · Jay Stern’s paintings employ a comparably disruptive visual language to similar effect. Composed of fragments of lapidary color reminiscent of stained glass, tile work, or frames in a film, they draw our attention to the mechanics of the painting even as they convince us of its veracity.

Jul 1, 2024 · Grant Wahlquist Gallery is proud to announce Jay Stern’s first solo exhibition in Maine, “Awning.” The exhibition runs from June 22 – August 17, 2024. Since his arrival in Maine in 2021 Jay Stern has rapidly become known for jewel-toned paintings of interior scenes and still lifes.

May 15, 2024 · Jay Stern (born 1991) received a BFA in painting from the University of Cincinnati and an MFA in arts leadership from Seattle University. This year Stern will exhibit two solo presentations in Portland, Maine, and Los Angeles and show new work in a group exhibition at UTA Artist Space in Atlanta.
