Clutch Cargo is an American animated television series created by cartoonist Clark Haas and produced by Cambria Productions, syndicated beginning on March 9, 1959. The series was notable for its limited animation yet imaginative stories, [3] as well as for being the first widely-known use of Syncro-Vox technology.
Clark S. Haas, Jr. (July 21, 1919 – January 18, 1978) [1] was a cartoonist and, from 1957 to 1965, owner of Cambria Studios, which produced the limited animation series Clutch Cargo (1959).

Jun 21, 2018 · Cambria Productions, founded by illustrator Clark Haas in 1957, launched their first adventure series featuring “Syncro-Vox,” Clutch Cargo, on March 9, 1959. By doing so, the studio introduced “lip service” to the world of animated cartoons. Subsequent “lip service” Cambria cartoons were Space Angel (1962) and Captain Fathom (1965).

Oct 3, 2018 · 1. It was incredibly low budget. Creator Clark Haas once bragged, "Footage that Disney does for $250,000 we do for $18,000." Why was it so cheap? Well, it technically was not animation. "We are not making animated cartoons. We are photographing 'motorized movement,'" Haas explained. Thus, their budget was about 20% of a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
