In 1881, John Homer Bliss published Genealogy of the Bliss family in America, from about the year 1550-1880.He included two chapters on the family of immigrants Thomas and George Bliss. The chapters told a heart wrenching tale of loyalty about an earlier ancestor Honestus Bliss, and all about the trials and tribulations of puritans Thomas, his brother, Jonathan, and their father, Thomas, and also introduced us to Belstone. This Thomas may have existed, doubtful, but he certainly was not the progenitor of the immigrant Thomas Bliss of Hartford or George Bliss of Rhode Island.
