Discovery Green is an 11.78-acre (47,700 m 2) public urban park in Downtown Houston, Texas, bounded by La Branch Street to the west, McKinney Street to the north, Avenida de las Americas to the east, and Lamar Street to the south. The park is adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center and Avenida Houston entertainment district.

The Discovery Green is located across from the George R. Brown Convention Center. There is lots of places to eat around the Green included Biggio's Sports Bar. The Discovery Green is centrally located between Minute Maid Park and the Toyota Center. Discovery Green has lots of open areas for families and kids to play.
Discovery Green returns 12 acres of mostly paved lots to a natural green space in the heart of downtown Houston. A core of outdoor activity near the convention center, ballpark and arena, the park also provides a central focus for new development. Larry Speck led the design of the park’s architecture, creating a model of sustainability.
Discovery Green is a 12-acre park created by a public-private partnership between the City of Houston and the non-profit Discovery Green Conservancy. Since the park opened in April 2008, it has welcomed more than 20 million visitors and with hundreds of events a year.
