Captree State Park is a 340-acre (1.4 km 2) state park located in the towns of Babylon and Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The park is located south of Captree Island on the easternmost end of Jones Beach Island, and overlooks the Fire Island Inlet and the westernmost section of Fire Island.
Captree is a magical place. It is a state park so there is a (seasonal / weekend) parking charge (check it online) or admittance with an Empire State pass. There are two fishing piers available, along with a ait shop, restaurant, boat launch and gas dock.
It's a small park by comparison to other State Parks, but it does have a snack bar, restrooms and a place to sit an watch the fishing boats come and go. There is a pier around the opposite side with an interesting view back to the boats.
