Epic Records Japan is a Japanese record label owned by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Its founder was Shigeo Maruyama. Between 1978 and 1988 the label operated as a wholly owned subsidiary: Epic/Sony Inc. (株式会社EPIC・ソニー) was established in August 1978 and was folded back into CBS/Sony Group in March 1988.

エピックレコードジャパン （ Epic Records Japan ）は、 ソニー・ミュージックレーベルズ の 社内 レコードレーベル であり、「エピック」という通称で知られている。 かつては「 エピックソニー 」というレーベル名であり、 規格品番 の「 ES 」はこれにちなむ。 EPICの名は 1953年 に 米 ・ コロムビアレコード が傘下に設立した、 ジャズ ・ クラシック音楽 部門を販売するためのサブレーベル名 エピック・レコード にその起源をもつ。 メインレーベル「Epic Records」は、会社名とは異なり「Japan」の表記はない。
