The Slippery Noodle Inn was originally founded in 1850 as the Tremont House. It is Indiana's oldest, continually operated bar in the original building. The Noodle is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Slippery Noodle has a rather amazing history - the "Inn" was a way station for the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. At one point, a bordello opened in what was once a luxurious inn. The bordello was actually open until 1953 when it closed after one customer killed another customer over a woman.
