Bathsheba ( / bæθˈʃiːbə / or / ˈbæθʃɪbə /; Hebrew: בַּת־שֶׁבַע, Baṯ-šeḇaʿ, Bat-Sheva or Batsheva, "daughter of Sheba" or "daughter of the oath") [1] was the wife of Uriah the Hittite and later of David, according to the Hebrew Bible.
