  4. Biography. Robert A. Frosch earned a BA from Columbia College in 1947, and a Ph.D. in Physics from Columbia University in 1952. Beginning in 1951 at Hudson Laboratories of Columbia University, he studied environmental variables that affect very long range sound propagation in the ocean.
