Sir Christopher Antoniou Pissarides FBA (/ ˌ p ɪ s ə ˈ r iː d iː z /; Greek: Χριστόφορος Αντωνίου Πισσαρίδης; born 20 February 1948) is a Cypriot economist. He is Regius Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, and Professor of European Studies at the University of Cyprus.
Biographical. I was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 20 February 1948. My father Antonios was born in the village of Agros, in the Troodos mountains, a village in a valley surrounded by mountains on three sides and with an opening to the south overlooking in the distance the bay of Limassol.
