The Sports Center also includes the Jacobs Fitness Center, the Reeves Aquatic Center, a mini-mall, the campus store, and a 470-car, seven-level parking garage.
Located in the Sports Center, Bender Arena is host to a variety of events on campus including Commencement and athletic games. Bender Arena is located on the campus of American University in Washington, D.C., and is home to the Eagles’ basketball teams as well as the volleyball and wrestling teams. Named for Howard and Sondra Bender, whose donations helped fund the arena, Bender opened in 1988 and has served as the Eagles’ home venue ever since.
