Wyler Aerial Tramway is an aerial tramway in El Paso, Texas, United States. The tramway is operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and is located in Franklin Mountains State Park. The tramway complex covers 196 acres (0.79 km 2) on the east side of the Franklin Mountains.
The tramway is only open Fri, Sat, and Sunday, at noon, so I suggest going just before noon so that you can buy your tickets early and avoid waiting in the ticket line later. The tram only holds about 7 people, and one is the park guide.

The Wyler Aerial Tramway originally was constructed by Carl Wyler, owner of KTSM Channel 9 TV, as a means for service crews to reach the highest peak on Mt. Franklin called Ranger Peak. It was later opened to the public, and for a nominal fee you could ride up the steep cliffs in a stand up only gondola that was shaped like a large phone booth.
Wyler Aerial Tramway comprises nearly 200 acres of El Paso’s Franklin Mountains. At the lower terminal, enjoy a desert garden featuring local flora of the region and up-close looks at the main control room including the tramway’s operating machinery.
