Wanted Dead or Alive is an American Western television series starring Steve McQueen as bounty hunter Josh Randall. It aired on CBS for three seasons from 1958–1961. The black-and-white program was a spin-off of a March 1958 episode of Trackdown, a 1957–1959 Western series starring Robert Culp.
A reclusive old man with an Apache bodyguard is wanted for a crime committed long ago. Randall tags along with an overeager bounty hunter to ensure the man is brought back alive as a favor to the Sheriff and the old man.
Josh arrives in town thinking the sheriff summoned him to go after a man. Instead, a woman wants Josh to bring in the man, her wanted husband, alive, so he can prove self defense, but the brothers of the man he killed are out to hang him.
Wanted: Dead or Alive. A bounty hunter (Steve McQueen) makes a living in 1870s Wild West with his sawed-off rifle. When a marshal is killed, Josh takes matters into his own hands to track down the Martin brothers, who are responsible for his death.
