State senator Finley is murdered, thrown out of his office window, because he refused to put forward legislation proposed by an influential but corrupt lobbyist Ollie Crown. The Senator's wife knows her husband's death was anything but a suicide and asks Marino to investigate Crown in an attempt to expose his unethical methods.
