The Rising tells the story of Neve Kelly, a young woman who finds out that she is dead. After realizing that she has been murdered, she determines to find her killer and get justice. As she begins her investigation, Neve discovers that she has the ability to interfere in the world around her as well as interact with certain individuals, one of whom she grows close to.

She's scared and confused by this new existence. But, when she realizes she has been murdered, she's furious. She's determined to find her killer and get justice, believing that it was someone she knew.

The Rising was a really great surprise for me. I was expecting mediocre UK drama, but got something completely unique and really intriguing. I love that this show is set in a small village in the middle of nowhere, and shows the unusual countryside culture of northern England.
