Blue Gender is a Japanese anime television series created by Ryōsuke Takahashi, the creator of Armored Trooper Votoms and Gasaraki, broadcast in Japan from 1999 to 2000 and spanning 26 episodes.
Blue Gender takes place in the not too distant future in a world where things have gone terribly wrong for humanity. Humans have been replaced at the top of the food chain by the Blue, a race of bug-like aliens that have colonized Earth and pushed humans aside.

Suddenly awakened after 22 years in suspended animation, Yuji Kaido learns the survival of the entire human race rests in his hands. Humankind has been replaced as the dominant species on Earth by a race of monstrous insect-like creatures known as the Blue.

Synopsis. In the 2030s Earth has been overrun by the Blue, which are mutated insect-like creatures that kill and harvest humans for food. Most of the surviving human race has moved to Second Earth, a huge spaceship that orbits the planet.
Blue Gender is a story about a young man of today waking up in a brutal futuristic world. Yugi Kaido was one of many people in the early 21st century, who were diagnosed with a strange genetic disease.
