Dalgliesh is a British crime drama television series, based on the Adam Dalgliesh novels by PD James. Bertie Carvel stars as the title character, an enigmatic detective–poet. The six-part series premiered on Acorn TV on 1 November 2021 in the United States followed by a Channel 5 premiere on 4 November in the United Kingdom.
Dalgliesh: With Bertie Carvel, Carlyss Peer, Alistair Brammer, Jeremy Irvine. Follows Dalgliesh's crime-fighting career from 1970s England to the present day.

Adam Dalgliesh ( / ˈdælɡliːʃ / DAL-gleesh) is a fictional character who is the protagonist of fourteen mystery novels by P. D. James; the first being James's 1962 novel Cover Her Face. He also appears in the two novels featuring James's other detective, Cordelia Gray .
Dalgliesh is being adapted from the novels Shroud For A Nightingale, The Black Tower, and A Taste For Death. Set in the 1970s, the series follows Adam Dalgliesh, who is still grieving his wife’s death as he solves unusual murders and reveals buried secrets.
Two dead bodies are discovered in a church - one is a former Member of Parliament, while the other is a local vagrant. Dalgliesh's investigation leads him into the world of the British nobility, where everyone seems to have secrets.
